关于组织Dr Abdel-Hamid Soliman “通信原理”课程教学观摩的通知

我校与英国斯坦福厦大学开展了中外合作办学,本学期英方派出Dr Abdel-Hamid Soliman来我校进行“通信原理”课程教学,为学习英方先进的教学理念、教学模式及评估体系,现拟组织进行教学观摩活动,具体安排如下:

Dr Abdel-HamidSoliman简介

 

Responsibilities

 

 

  • Associate     Professor in Telecommunications and Signal Processing.

  • Award Tutor:     Distance Learning PhD.

  • Module leadership     and design, delivery, and assessment.

  • Member of FCES     Extenuating Circumstances panel.

  • Core member of the     Centre for Information, Intelligence and Security Systems (CIISS) and

  • Mobile Fusion Applied     Research Centre.

 

About Me

 

Dr Soliman has a multi-disciplinaryacademic/research experience in digital signal processing, telecommunications,data acquisition systems, wireless sensor networks (WSN) and image/videoprocessing. In addition to his research activities, he is involved in severalenterprise projects and consultancy activities for national and internationalcompanies. He is actively seeking funds and support for the research activitiesin his areas of research interest by determining the appropriate funds andapplying to these funds through various funding organisations. Now, he isleading and involved in several European funded projects.

 

Qualifications

 

  • PhD in Image     Processing.

  • MSc in Information     Systems and Data Acquisition Systems.

  • BEng (Hons)     Distinction with first-class honour in Electronics and     Communications.

  • PGC in Research     Supervision.

  • PGC in Research     Methods.

Research Interests

 

Currently Dr. Soliman is leading andinvolved in several European funded projects such as:

 

  • Clean Energy and     Research in Environmental Studies (CERES) – TEMPUS.

  • Program for     Excellence Academy Cooperation Exchange (PEACE) - Erasmus Mundus.

  • Water Enhanced     Resource Planning (WatERP) - Seventh Framework Programme -FP7.

  • Program for     Excellence Academy Cooperation Exchange II (PEACE II) - Erasmus Mundus.

 

He is also involved in some collaborativeprojects with research/educational organisations in North Africa/Middle East,towards extending the university profile in international researchcollaborations.

 

He coordinates and provides trainingcourses and consultancy for national and international companies, InternationalOil Companies funded by VIBA Ltd, AGIP Ltd, WAHA Ltd, AZZAWIA Ltd, SIRTE Ltd,RASCO Ltd.

Dr. Soliman believes in integrationbetween Academia (research) and industry, and the research activities shouldreflect on the community. Currently, his research is focusing on the area ofAutomation, including Smart Cities, Building automation, Energy management,Security, Safety and health applications. In addition to:

  • Data acquisition     Systems and Internet of Things.

  • Digital signal     processing.

  • Image and video     processing.
